TV Remote Control – Clicker (“Clicker”) · Effective September 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Clicker collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. Clicker is published by Mileafy LLC (“Mileafy,” “we,” “us”). If you have questions, contact us at [email protected].
The short version
- Clicker controls your TV over your local Wi-Fi network. TV control traffic goes directly between your iPhone and your TV, not through our servers.
- There is no account or sign-in. We don’t collect your name, email address, contacts, precise location, camera, or microphone data.
- We use Firebase (Google) for analytics, crash reports, configuration, and diagnostic logs, and RevenueCat for purchase analytics.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising or track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
1. Information that stays on your device
Local network access
Clicker asks for Local Network permission so it can discover TVs on your Wi-Fi (using Bonjour/SSDP) and send them commands using each manufacturer’s protocol. This includes sending a Wake-on-LAN packet to a saved TV’s MAC address if you use that feature. This traffic stays on your local network. We do not receive a list of the other devices on your network.
Saved TVs and pairing credentials
When you pair a TV, Clicker stores the credentials needed to reconnect (such as a token, certificate, or PIN), along with the TV’s identifier and any nickname you give it. These are stored only on your device, for up to 10 saved TVs, and are never uploaded to us. You can remove a TV under Settings › Devices, or delete everything by deleting the app.
Siri and Shortcuts
Clicker offers actions you can trigger through Siri or the Shortcuts app. That data is handled on your device and by Apple’s frameworks. It is not sent to us.
2. Information collected by our service providers
Clicker uses the following services. Each receives data directly from the app.
| Service | What it does | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Firebase Analytics (Google) | Helps us understand how the app is used and improve it | Usage events (screen views, connection attempts and results by TV brand, commands sent), plus device and app identifiers Firebase assigns to the installation |
| Firebase Crashlytics (Google) | Crash reporting | Crash reports and device/OS metadata |
| Firebase Remote Config (Google) | Delivers configuration, such as protocol settings and promotional banners | The signals in Section 3 below |
| Firebase Storage (Google) | Receives diagnostic logs to help us fix connection problems | Diagnostic logs, described below |
| RevenueCat | Purchase and subscription analytics | An anonymous RevenueCat ID and information about App Store transactions |
Analytics, crash reporting, and diagnostic log uploads are active only in release (App Store) builds.
Diagnostic logs
To troubleshoot TV connection and pairing problems, release builds upload diagnostic information to Firebase Storage. After a failed session this may be the full session log; otherwise it is a small summary or a pairing result, organized by TV brand. File names include a randomly generated install ID (not linked to your identity), the app version, and your iOS version. Log lines can include the names of TVs on your network (for example, “Connecting to device: Living Room TV (Samsung)”) and the names of commands sent. Logs do not include account data, precise location, or contacts, and do not include your saved pairing credentials.
Purchases
RevenueCat runs in observer mode: it records StoreKit transactions and assigns an anonymous ID. Payments are processed by Apple, and neither we nor RevenueCat receive your payment card details. Clicker currently unlocks all features for everyone and is not charging for Pro, but the integration is active.
3. Promotional banner and locale signals
Clicker may show a banner promoting other apps made by Mileafy. This is our own promotion, not third-party advertising. To decide which banner to show, the app sends the following to Firebase Remote Config: your region (derived from your device locale), device language, app language, time zone name, and UTC offset. We do not collect GPS or precise location.
4. What we do not collect
Clicker has no account or login system. It does not request access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, or health data. It does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), does not use App Tracking Transparency, and contains no third-party advertising SDKs.
5. How we use information
- To operate, maintain, and improve Clicker, including fixing compatibility problems with specific TV brands
- To detect and diagnose crashes and connection failures
- To deliver configuration and show our own promotional banners
- To understand purchase and subscription performance
- To respond to your requests and comply with legal obligations
Where data protection law requires a legal basis (for example, under the GDPR or UK GDPR), we rely on our legitimate interests in maintaining and improving a reliable app, and on performing our contract with you when you use the app.
6. Sharing
We share information only with the service providers listed above, who process it on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies, and with Apple as the operator of the App Store. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of others. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Learn more: Google Privacy Policy, Firebase privacy information, RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
7. Retention and deletion
Saved TVs and credentials stay on your device until you remove them or delete the app. Data held by Firebase (analytics, crash reports, logs) is kept according to Firebase’s standard retention periods. RevenueCat data is kept according to RevenueCat’s retention practices.
To ask us to delete data associated with your installation, email [email protected]. Because we do not have accounts and the data is tied to random install identifiers rather than your identity, we may need you to provide the identifier or other details so we can locate it.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live (including the EEA, UK, and California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact [email protected]. If you are in the EEA or UK, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
You can revoke Local Network permission at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network, though Clicker will then be unable to find or control your TVs.
9. International transfers
Our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries whose data protection laws differ from yours. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
10. Children
Clicker is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will work to delete it.
11. Security
Pairing credentials are kept on your device, and TV control traffic stays on your local network. Data sent to our service providers is transmitted over encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when it was last revised. If we make material changes, we will update this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
